Gemma is the baker. She grew up baking and spent pretty much every Sunday in the kitchen with her mum experimenting with new recipes. She always has her finger in a few pies (excuse the pun!) has dabbled in sugar craft and dreams of cakes by night.

Business Operations Director

Beth is the organiser, the accountant and the business hub – she manages all of this whilst looking after three little ones who are excited that their mumtrepreneurs are fulfilling their dreams of a gluten free baking business. She is level headed, organised and the glue to our business. She’s also recently discovered a flair for birthday cake decoration.

About Us

Not everyone gets a gluten free guru for a mum! Mum started the family business with The Gluten Free Pastry Company back in 2007 in Taunton, where we won our Taste of the West awards in 2008.

With Mum’s award winning and very secret recipe under our belts, we have been touring around testing the award winning recipe and developing the tasty product range we have today. The positive feedback we’ve received for our handmade delights hasn’t stopped since.

We expanded to the London area in 2014 and became The Wheat Free Kitchen, although we are still baking in the West Country and our kitchen in London.

Our wheat free pastry is used in our tarts, quiches and pasties (we’re West Country girls after all!). But it didn’t stop there. It was clear from our customers that you wanted gluten free cakes and muffins too – we knew we’d cracked it when we heard “are these definitely gluten free?”

is Bristol Children's hospital Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal, we

aim to raise as much money as possible through sales of our heart shortbread to donate and help support the hospital in what they do.
